Help Feed Migrant Workers Stranded in Mangalore
The COVID 19 lockdown in India has stranded thousands of migrant workers in Mangalore with no income and no means of feeding themselves and their families. Hundreds are in need of food and shelter. Several institutions have come forward to help. Fr Denzil Lobo from St. Aloysius College has galvanized a team of volunteers to feed these stranded migrant workers. The SAC canteen is being used to cook meals and volunteers are helping prepare and distributed ready to eat meal packets to these stranded migrant workers.

“We may not be able to solve the problem of the whole world. But we can at least take care of the things in front of our eyes. We easily spend $250-$500 a month on entertainment and restaurants. We could redirect some of this expenses towards feeding these starving migrants.”
