Help Feed Migrant Workers Stranded in Mangalore

The COVID 19 lockdown in India has stranded thousands of migrant workers in Mangalore with no income and no means of feeding themselves and their families. Hundreds are in need of food and shelter. Several institutions have come forward to help. Fr Denzil Lobo from St. Aloysius College has galvanized a team of volunteers to feed these stranded migrant workers. The SAC canteen is being used to cook meals and volunteers are helping prepare and distributed ready to eat meal packets to these stranded migrant workers.

$50 will fund a 100 meals for migrant workers

for about 40 rupees including GST we are able to prepare a meal in our canteen with white rice, egg curry with one egg, and channa. Thanks to the contributions from APNA, Yesterday we distributed 1250 meals to migrant workers.

We may not be able to solve the problem of the whole world. But we can at least take care of the things in front of our eyes. We easily spend $250-$500 a month on entertainment and restaurants. We could redirect some of this expenses towards feeding these starving migrants.
